JCJC men’s soccer coach Oleg Baleyev was inducted into the William Carey University Sports Hall of Fame recently.
Baleyev played defender for the Crusaders soccer team from 1994-98. His teams were ranked No. 1 in NAIA in three of the four years that he played. He was selected as an NAIA all-American and all-Region player in 1997-98, and was also chosen to compete in the NAIA “Senior Bowl” that season. Baleyev also played for the Russian National team when he was 17 years old and he trained with a professional team, the Dynamo of Moscow.
