But Vivica A. Fox seemed to have misunderstood the memo - arriving to host the industry's annual gala rather visibly missing her bra.
The 50-year-old Celebrity Apprentice contestant had certainly made a huge effort, looking fabulous in her clinging sheer gown at the Underfashion Club on Tuesday.

With or without her undergarments, Vivica was stunning in the mesh and silver-sequin creation at the Femmy Gala, held at Manhattan's Cipriani Restaurant.
The actress' dark hair was piled high on her head in an elegant bun, pulled-back severely from her forehead to highlight dangling and sparkling earrings.
Vivica's makeup was perfect - possibly thanks to some on-the-carpet touch-ups - and highlighted her prominent cheekbones.

As for Vivica's dress, it was impossible to miss, covered from shoulder to floor in silver sequins.
While the fabric seemed solid from the waist down, the sequins broke up into floral patterns over mesh at the bodice.
Red-pink and green jewelled highlights were dotted throughout the silver.
It was thanks to the mesh that Independence Day star Vivica's bra-less state was evident: a clear outline of her unfettered chest was visible.

The cause of the night, the annual Femmy Gala, was a fundraising event meant to fund the Underfashion Club's various charitable endeavours.

The standard in-fighting came after a failed challenge - this one to create a photobomb campaign for King's Hawaiian bread - got personal when Kenya charged Vivica with having emotional issues.
'This menopause is killing me. I can't think straight. I'm acting like a damn fool half the time. 50 just isn't sexy,' read a tweet posted to Vivica's account, used as evidence of instability by Kenya.

Instead, Kenya was accused of stealing Vivica's phone and planting the offending message.
Kenya maintained her innocence but was sent home anyway for being the losing team's project manager.
'I could not care less. Bounce,' Vivica said to Kenya as the latter left.
